I’ve a Punto Grande 1.4 turbo 2007, it overheats sometimes but getting more regular now. So the coolant in the expansion tank is cool while the radiator is hot. At the time I checked it the temperature gage was running midway. What is this likely to be, a thermostat?

Sounds like it, the thermostat has stuck closed?

Many thanks for the quick reply Richard. Do you know if its much of a job to do. I can’t actually see it, is this because I need to remove a few things? I tried Youtube for a video but could not find anything? I did replace one not long ago on an Alfa 156 which wasn’t too bad to do.
