Hi guys
I bought a fiat 500 gucci interior basically all seats .. in the listing the guy said the seatbelt pre tensioners may have deployed and might need replacing....anyway I fitted the interior and when I started the car the display said airbag problem ... is this to do with the pre tensioners?? Or an actual airbag in the seats!?!

Hey had a quick look today it seems,my pre tensioners are located behind the side panel under the seatbelts themselves my question is..what are the large tubular springs under the seats? I thought they were the pre tensioners! Sorry to sound thick but I'm a newbie after all ?

pretensioners are located by lower seatbelt mount in the floor. if they have deployed, you'll need the airbag ecu 'cleaned' by a proffesional, you'll be able to clear the pretensioner codes but not the crash data stored when an airbag and pretensioner deploys.. of course the pretensioner could be faulty, in this case replace and clear the codes with an appropriate software MES etc.

Its the airbag in my 2 hand gucci seat!? had diagnostics done today! My mechanic is doing some research over the weekend to see if anything can be done? Any ideas guys?? Worst case ill have to remove the leather and try transplant it to my old passenger seat ...Though not sure how it will look ????? ANY IDEAS???

If it's the airbag in the seat they can be replaced. Might be a simple case that the wiring isn't actually connected to the airbag inside the seat so throwing up a fault.

So if your old seats also had airbags fitted you can swap the airbag over to your new seats.

Just have to repair the seat now luckily I'm very good at sewing

Did you undo the stitching yourself or did you buy them like that due to the airbag having been deployed ?

Just wondering and you usually unzip them from the back to take the covers off in order to replace parts .....;)

Just remember the stitching is a special type that used for car seats and airbags, it's designed to break so the airbag deploys and doesn't rip the seat covers. An auto-retrim shop would do it for you if required.

The sneaky sods had re stitched the seats with blown airbag in!! I had no idea there was a fault!! To be honest I wouldn't have bought them! Yes I have been researching so will probs look into getting them re stitched professionally ...could not see any way of unzipping or removing covers easier ??

If you got them them eBay I'd definitely be putting a complaint in

How did you get on with this, hopefully you got some pennies back via eBay. Seats all sorted now ?

Yeah got half my money back!!! The seat had been re stitched with the remnants of what was an airbag ? so I replaced the bag myself and luckily I’m handy on a sewing machine too[emoji23] so yeah seats all sorted!!
