Hi! Folks just bought 2005 Swift Fiat Ducato 2 wks ago
Still getting used to it .
Can anybody gave me the low down on the panels like Leisure battery/leads
Also getting Fridge on battery/Electricity left on plugged in house but Fridge
didn’t get cold. I was able to get it working off gas !
Thanks! In advance ✌️

Hi Rob. The battery on the fridge feeds from the alternator not the battery so the engine needs to run. Having said that it's not great working at 12v so don't expect miracles. We usually get it cold on gas or house electrics then turn it to 12v for travelling. It keeps it cold but won't get it cold. The mains has a different setting on the gauges. Plus there are fuse(s)/trips that may need replacing/resetting.
Enjoy your new m/home.

I'm not sure if you have the original manuals, but if not, the link here will allow you to access/download them:

https://www.swiftgroup.co.uk/owners/handbooks

(Select the year - 2005, but be aware that a 2005 registered motorhome might be an earlier year's model - and "Motorhomes", and you will get download links.)

If the 'van is on mains hook-up, then the fridge should work on the 240/230V setting, not on battery as in the above reply.

If you do have it on the mains setting, then check that the RCD hasn't tripped, and the appropriate MCB is turned on (the mains electric distribution may well be hidden away in a cupboard or wardrobe - the manuals might help to locate it.

Thanks Samdex I am just back will check out

Don't forget there is usually a isolated switch in the cupboard next to the fridge at the bottom for the 230 volt as well.
