Hey everybody,

This is my first post so please be kind. I've just started working on my grandmother's '62 600D (767cc) and it needs a new head gasket. Before taking the head off, I want to make sure I have the right pattern and bolt torque values. I can't get a workshop manual in time, so any help is greatly appreciated.

Thank you very much for any help

I loved my 600D and still have the Haynes workshop manual.

Torque: Cylinder head-to-crankcase = 20.3 to 21.7 ft lbs 0r 2.8 to 3.0 kgm

Torque Sequence:

8 6 2 5 10

7 3 1 4 9

I think bolt 2 is on the cylinder inlet side but even if it is the exhaust side the it won't make any real difference if you just follow the sequence.

Would suggest you torque up in two stages. First 50% in sequence and then 100% in sequence.

Have fun :)
