Hi all,
First off, thanks for letting me in. Over the next couple of weeks, I should be buying a Punto EVO 1.2 8v.
No previous Fiat experience, but as I approach retirement, a large car is no longer needed and economy and reliability are becoming more important, so fingers crossed.
One thing you guys could help me out with right now is simply the change interval for the timing belt kit and water pump.
As far as the Punto goes I'm very impressed with the level equipment this little car has and hopefully all or most of it is reliable.
So, looking forward to ownership and a few chats on here.
Bye for now . . . . Keithbj60 :)

Hi Keith. :)

What mileage on this car?
Its basically a Grande Punto.. same as my 2012. ;)

1242cc motor is fine. I would treat cambelt as 50k : 5 years

After belt change ..get both sensors for timing realigned electronically
Saves any warning lights...and limp mode.

Hi Charlie,
The car is around 50k, so ready for new belt and pump. I did do a bit of diggin' today and found its officially 72k or 60mnths so taking your sound advice there. I will, of course, check the advertised fsh to see if it was done at 60mnths, but any doubt will get it done anyway. Many thanks Charlie.

It’s the same as most cars, almost all cars have a cambelt interval of 70 - 80k or 5 years but hardly anyone gets them done on the 5 year schedule and still waits will 70 - 80k you should always get the water pump and any tensioner pulleys replaced at the same time.

The only a exception to this is something like the 1.3 diesel that has a separate water pump driven off its own belt and a timing chain.

Welcome to Evo ownership, they are fun little cars.
