Help please. Fiat bravo 2007 1.4
Speedo stopped working and abs light with red brake light on together with engine light. With multiecuscan codes c1003 under steering section which won't clear. Two other codes under abs section for body computer and can bus. These two codes will clear but come back on when starting vehicle. Totally at a loss and would appreciate any ideas as not much info on bravos out there. Also my son says steering feels different even with city button on. More stiff possibly. Thanks

Hi. :)

Please give some background info.

Any work recently.. anything no longer working?

Did this happen gradually.. or 'overnight'

Look in the Grande FAQs.. random electrical thread.

Plenty of things it could be.. but rule out bad earths and water in fusebox..etc.

Thanks for the reply. No work recently. Got in car and lights came on and noticed Speedo not functioning. I did hook up multiecuscan today to see if abs sensors were working and the were showing equal movement of speed on laptop while driving. Which earth's do you mean please? And their locations? All fuses checked in engine bay and all fine except one 30 amp one behind glovebox that had no feed on either side.

The speedo will be driven by the body computer from the ABS system.

You need to find what that 30A fuse does. What's the betting it's the ABS system.

See GP section ;)

I've just read that faulty abs pump can cause ebd lights and speedometer failure. I can change the pump but does the pump have to be bled using software anyone? Any info on abs pump bleeding on bravo 1.4 2007?

You have a dead fuse so need to find what it powers and why there is no power to it. I don't believe in coincidences so it likely a wire or connection pin has broken and that's the one that powers the ABS system.

Does anyone know if the ABS motor turns at ignition on? It could be an issue with the motor or the brushes. There are videos on YouTube showing how to change ABS motor brushes.

You need to get www.multiecuscan.net connected with the correct OBD cable and see what it comes up with.
