Panda issues with driver window...

Hi all,

Thanks to all here I was able to sort my lights issue and my door handles. My driver side window has now decided it doesn't want to open...I had this issue last year, I changed the motor and it was working fine until yesterday when I went to open it and it just doesn't work! It has done this a couple of times since but started working again by itself! Is there something I should be looking at? All my issues seem to be on the drivers side: windows, issues with the indicators/lights, bulbs going front and back....and the boot opening by itself.
Is it time to just send it to an auto electrician? Or is there something I can look at?

All help/advice very much appreciated as it's due for nct (mot) soon.

Hi.

Worth checking the wiring loom from dashboard to door.

At the pivot area.. this will see thr most movement stress.. being the drivers door

Intermittent.. it all adds to the picture

Can you hear a relay click when you use the switch?
If no, probably door wiring, cut and splice as required.

If yes, possibly the motor. Or door wiring. Or switch.
Have had all 3 over the years. None are too expensive or difficult to fix.

PS. Motor can be changed in 15 minutes without removing the whole mechanism with a bit of fiddling.

Hi all,

I can hear a click in the fuse area when I push the button up and down. I'll have a look at the door loom and see if there's anything amiss there.
I changed the motor last year...

Ok had a look and the wiring in the loom is fine....

Wires break internally especially at flex points like door hinges. You need to test all functions within the door with an electrical test meter.
