Hi to all, newbie from NZ, restoring 500F ( bambina ). Presently looking for a way to compress the front leaf spring for re-fitting.

Hi Motueka from Wellington! I have just done this using a piece of pipe and threaded rods at each end, nuts used to push the rods out. Ends of roads shaped to fit in the end bush mountings. On the mail leaf. Easy to expand and fit. 3 hours from start to finish

Welcome to the Forum----with regard to fitting a front spring, have a word with Chris Munn, (in Papakowhai) he has made himself a tool for doing this job. Fiat made a specific 'spring flattening tool'--if you find one, let us know!
