Hi All

I am the proud new owner of a Fiat Coupe 20v Turbo. I need help in understanding what work I need to do or what parts are required to get the rear suspension past the dreaded MOT man.

The fail is for rot. There is a cone shaped piece of metal that the rear spring sits around where it joins the upper arm/body. That has rotted badly. Is it a separate part that can be replaced like a mounting strut or is it a fabricated part of the suspension arm? I will try to attach photographs if I can work out how to do so.

Please anyone with knowledge of these cars, if you could help me I would be extremely grateful as I don't want to start stripping down the whole rear suspension without knowing what exactly it is I am trying to achieve.

Many thanks
Phil.

Images now attached. Its the rotten cone inside the top of the spring.

Welcome to the forum.

It's not listed on ePer as a separate part number, so I suspect it's an integral part of that assembly.

I doubt you'll be able to find a subframe new now, best option would be find one from a vehicle being broken and get it tidied up and rust-proofed.

Join FCCUK - The Fiat Coupe forum - an invaluable source of information dedicated to the Coupe. I sold my last Coupe a couple of years ago now but even then Rust was becoming more and more of an issue for them.................
