Hi, I bought a 2012 Fiat Punto 2 days ago and its not securing itself with park break while uphill. I had a traumatising experience today trying to set off uphill and the car rolls back even with park break on when I am pressing the gas pedal. It seem to secure itself when gradient is less bit not on a serious hill. Not sure what to do.Any thoughts would be much appreciated. Thanks, Lahari

Hi.

Could be contsmination..or the friction lining worn out :(

Maybe raise 1 wheel at a time to see which one is not braking properly.

The cables can corrode..and get stuck too
( I had this)

Overhaul the rear brakes and if necessary replace the parking brake. On steep hills its always wise to park facing down with front wheels steered into the kerb.
