Hi Guys. My second posting so I'm still a newbie. Should this be in the technical area? Sorry in advance if it should.......
I have a cracking little 100 hp, really the only thing that needs attention is a rattle from underneath (well, it wouldn't be on top I guess....!), basically pretty sure front left, more distinctive at lower speeds (maybe just easier to hear that at that speed, or just less load on whatever maybe loose?), and nearly always when turning RIGHT. It will rattle when going straight ahead but only on
a really poor surface.
Someone else has mentioned antiroll bar drop links? If I take a wheel off can I spot them easily enough?
Anyway, these, and many more daft questions to follow over the forthcoming months/years no doubt!
Must say most parts are really cheap.....front fogs replaced for £32.50 for the pair, and even rear wheel arch trim was less than £20. At this rate she'll be newish within a year!
Many thanks, Tim:)

Drop links are always a good bet for this sort of thing. When checking them remember the antiroll bar will put the joints under tension if you just jack up one side. Even if you jack up the whole front end there is sometimes enough of a difference between the sides to still tension the links so you occasionally need to just "take the weight" on one side or t'other to actually feel the play. Of course it could be wear in anti-roll bar bushes, bottom ball joint, track rod end, inner track rod ball joint (where it meets the rack - inside the rubber gator. Or something else. But drop links are always a good place to start.

Good luck with it - Do let us know how you get on.
Regards
Jock

thanks guys, really helpful. Sadly a little beyond my expertise so have booked in with a trustworthy garage that I know. I'll let you know what they find. Thanks, Tim

Parts are generally reasonable but don't assume that all parts are cheap. Front bumper is £300 plus paint. A standard Panda bumper is £60. Front bottom arms are (at least) double the costs of standard Panda parts with only the Magneti Marelli or OEM versions available. You "can" fit the cheaper arms but we are told they wear out rapidly on the 100HP so I went for the correct parts.
Wheels look great but they don't cope well with potholes. Buckled rims are not unusual.

Thanks for all thoughts. Turned out to be a loose exhaust bracket rattling! Tightened up and all ok. Think I need to invest in a pair of car ramps and axle stands then I could have spotted that in time! You live and learn!

The catalyst case is stainless. The bracket to the gearbox is mild steel. Over time that mild steel just evaporates. On my wife's 1.2/60 it was not clear there had ever been a clamp on the cat outlet. I made a new one from some steel strip and a standard U-bolt exhaust clamp. Quite fiddly to get right TBH.
