Hello all I’m new on here, having real problems identifying why my clutch on my 1.9 doblo is failing every 7-8k! Each time it’s the release bearing that collapses. I’ve swapped everything including the guide tube and still it’s failing prematurely. The vehicle isn’t driven hard and clutch pedal isn’t being used as a footrest!! Only thing I’ve not swapped is the clutch release arm that actuates the bearing and releases the clutch. Has anyone experienced similar problems-totally at wits end with this.

It’s jtd, I’ve owned for 3 years and I use as taxi, obviously mileage is high but previously a clutch would last 50k plus.

Check the clutch release arm is not twisted have had that on other vehicles over the years I was in the trade, allows the bearing to come down not square with pad on cover.
Check for free movement as well in cable, pedal, & gearbox pivot arm

Ok.. so when did the last 'good clutch' fail.

In what way fid it fail..

The new ones?
How many clutches..how many bearings..

Distances covered etc..

The suggestion of an 'out of square push'

Sounds VERY plausible.

Had 2 both on BL\BMC carbon release bearings I think they failed due to a damaged release before the problem started causing arm to twist the twist was not a really noticeable amount an 1/8 or so if you have box out put a strait edge across bell housing & measure either side of bearing to SE, do it at full travel & at rest, don't forget to check any bushings in Gbox if any & the other things I mentioned
Never looked at the Fiat clutch all ours did 150K without clutches or flywheels, so maybe a concentric slave cylinder, (still check for square if possible) did have the stupid plastic clutch cylinder push rods break though.

Hi thanks for all advice folks, garage stripping car tomorrow and new clutch kit and release fork being fitted. Hopefully this time I’ll get more than 8000 miles out of clutch!
