Hi there, as a complete newbie, I would like some info if possible. Recently purchased a scudo comfort 90, camper conversion. When I unlock the van all the lights on the dash and the indicators start randomly flashing. I try locking, unlocking, pressing the hazard switch, but nothing stops it happening. I can’t even turn the ignition on at the time. This is not every time, but completely random and very frustrating. It does eventually stop, but I have no idea if this is due to a sequence of me pressing buttons, or if it’s run it’s course. Any advice would be great. Thanks

Hi.

Chances are there is a poor earth somewhere .. and triggering the alarm..flashing indicators.. and power locks.. is making a circuit through the dash.


Try:

hitting the Hazard switch.
With 6 orange bulbs flashing.. does the dash flash?

Unlock doors with the key..
Does the Central locking trigger the dash.

Being a conversion there may well be additional bits to the wiring loom.

What age is the van?

The van is on a 57 plate, Dec 07.

This usually happens when I first unlock the door with the remote key, 1 click to open the front doors. When I used the manual key, it was just the hazards going, and I had to sit in the van lock the doors and then was able to press the hazard button to stop it.

When all the orange lights start flashing quickly, the dashboard is flashing too, if I put the key in the ignition nothing happens, can’t start the van or anything. You may be right about the earth, as there as are also issues with the camper side of the electrics. As a female, pensioner, I think I will need to take it somewhere.

But as youve recently bought it.. its tricky to narrow it down much.

Ok.. so when the dash flashes.. does it seem to be to an 'indicator rythm'?

Or is it really fast.. or random ??

That might help give some direction on where to look..

What are the 'habitation' sides niggles ?

All aids the diagnosis..
