Hi everyone. Having already read through half the 500 section, I wanted to register and say hello now :woot:
Gina is shown in the gallery section, she joined us as a replacement for a 7 year old MINI Countryman all4 with 190thou km. The CM had to go with all the stupid Diesel woes we have in Germany. :bang:
Gina competed against a MINI cabrio and came out a clear winner. Much more cuddly and, believe it or not, more space in the back - people can actually sit there !
Having read through about 60 pages of past troubles here, I can see that in terms of reliability it´s probably a step back from the MINI.
Especially things like suspension, droplinks, etc. were absolutely no issue on the mini, even with the 190k km. It was still on its first clutch and exhaust. On the other hand, the Fiat spare parts seem to cost a lot less, so there is light at the end of the tunnel. And it seems the heater door problem has been fixed in the newer models, albeit unfortunately not the loom to the back hatch problem
Anyway, I tend to fix things myself where possible (not in the warranty phase, though...), so I will keep reading what I can expect in years to come and get prepared
