Hi there. I’m off to Italy in a few weeks and am looking at renting a 500. But nowhere can I find the size/dimensions of the truck. Can anyone help? We have one medium hard case bag (26x17.5x11inch) and a day backpack. Will the hard case and bag fit in the trunk with the seats up?
I’ve seen pictures with a 16” pizza box lying flat. So I’m hoping the hard bag would fit lying down.
Thanks so much!

I changed my 500 for a 500X last year, so I can't pop out and measure, but I'm sure someone else here will oblige! Pretty sure your hard case will fit though.

How many other passengers ? Medium case should fit fine

My wife and I have rented a cabrio in Italy before and just dropped the back seats to put in a large suitcase and two backpacks

Thanks for the quick replies! We’re trying to not fold down the seats to keep things hidden. It’s just the two of us got the week drive. I’ve heard I don’t want to rent a fiat panda :)

Boot floor is 40"×19" allowing for the boot latch I measure it should "just " fit lying flat with space for your soft bag.
Thanks John. I know that back seat slopes quite a bit. Knowing that it’s 19” I guess if needed we could stand it up too as long as there is 11” of clearance from the door to seat 17” up.

The Panda and the 500 are basically identical, the 500 being the more stylish and the Panda being more practical. Other than that, very few differences.

One difference is that the Panda hatch is much less steeply raked, so the boot capacity is significantly larger. Put simply, the Panda can carry more luggage (though neither can be considered large).

But presumably you’ll be taking your luggage out and leaving it at the hotel ? So not sure what you want to hide !

Btw definitely get a 500 if you’re going to Italy. Although I find Pandas very cool there’s just something about driving a 500 in Italy, especially if you can get an abarth cabrio ;)

Same issue overhere. We will be renting a 500 Convertible, but can't find the exact dimensions of the trunk of the convertible version. I also saw the pizza box picture but it would have been more relevant if they woukd have shown the exact dimensions (L x H x D), so that I can check whether our suitcase fits in it. Can anyone provide me this info? Thx!!

The boot in my cabrio is 1050mm wide, 500mm high, 500mm deep across the floor and 280mm at the top. The opening however is only 770mm wide by 360mm high (with deeply rounded corners) but you can drop the seats to manoeuver a bulky item into the boot then raise them again once it's in place.
