Hi can any body help?
I had the amber check engine light on and was told by the dealer it would cost £467 to fix with a new sensor. Having read lots of info about this problem I ordered a replacement of the same type from Ebay.
I also got a copy of multieuscan and an elm interface.
I fitted the new DPF sensor and checked the readings. I get P2452-11 which is short to ground according to multieuscan.
I checked the wiring and it is fine. If I unplug the sensor I get a sensor open circuit code
Is the new sensor faulty?

Always possible but how far back down the loom have you checked? There are connections deep in the plastic box near battery and ecu. Also. Chaffing has been noted under that headlamp.

If you plug old sensor back in do you get p2454? Was it new sensor or brand new 2nd hand sensor of eBay Did you blow the two pipes on dpf out before fitting sensor? have you contaminated your new sensor ? Remove it and tap the two pipe inlets on your hand , do you see any water on your hand if yes it’s faulty,

Yes I checked the wiring right back to the connector next to the ecu

The original sensor did give p2454 code. The sensor was new straight out of the packing. Probably Chinese in origin - don't know how to tell? I did blow through the DPF pipes though.

That’s the most common fault code on 2.3 and 3.0 of a faulty sensor you say you’ve checked plug connections tight and connector near fuse box ok, you might need to spew it back to China and try another sensor

Update: I contacted the supplier and they sent me a replacement. I plugged that in without connecting the pipes and it produces the same fault code as the other one P2452-11. I am beginning to wonder if it is the right version? The part number on the original was 552103040

Hi,
the sensor is 3 wire with common, supply and signal. If the supply is missing the ECU will think the signal is missing or shorted. Normally this is a 5V supply. It's on an outer pin ( I don't have diagram to hand).
If you don't measure 5V between one pin and chassis with the sensor unplugged you have either a bad connection of faulty ECU (unlikely).
If I recall correctly there is a post replacement adjustment for the DPF. Have you done this using MES?
What does MES say the actual sensor pressure is (under Parameters)? Does it change when you start / rev the engine?
See for some advanced testing.

One more with a Ducato and problems with the DPF sensor.

I have P2452-11 active (short to ground, according to wiTech Plus).
Found a guide (for JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE) to troubleshoot the wiring but I cannot find the pinout of the DPF in the ECU.

eLearn does not have DPF wiring (is for <2011 Ducatos).

Any idea where to test the wiring?

Thanks!

Does anyone have the wiring diagram for a Ducato 2014? I have also an P2452-11. first it was sometimes P2453 and/or P2454. Sometimes I could have trips of 5000 Km.
But now it is a permanent error.
Sensor is replaced, when I could travel 3000Km without any issues.
