HELLO!

I have just bought myself a fiat panda active 2008, with only 3000 miles on the clock, two elderly owners and a years m.o.t, which is the main reason I bought it and the fact its cheaper to run than what I have now.

so ive been reading lots on this site for a couple of weeks so thought I would sign up and chat to some peeps so if my panda does fall apart (touch wood) I should be able to get some help, or atleast get some laughs haha.

At 3000 miles its going to be suffering age related problems. Teat it like a barn find that needs recommissioning.

Drain and flush the coolant. Fill with distilled water and run the car a few miles then drain and refill with proper coolant.

Change engine oil and filter and change the gearbox oil.

Change the cam belt. Unless you have evidence of a new one, it will be well past its use-by date.

Change the brake fluid and closely inspect the brakes. It's likely to need new slave cylinders at the back (moisture creeps under the seals). But (except for the front callipers) you can change all four discs, pads, shoes and drums for under £100.

Clean and Waxoyl the back axle. Your's must be one of the best in the country.

Now thrash it everywhere until the engine frees up. It will be as tights a duck's.

Enjoy!!!
