Hi all im new to the forum and would like some info regarding the odometer on a 09 Ducato.
The odometer stopped at 399000kms and now has 5 little dashes in its place. All the other features work in the dash ie trips and fuel to empty. Ive taken the battery leads off for 30 mins and the dash actually resets to 399999kms but as soon as you drive that 1 km its back to _ _ _ _ _
Has anyone encountered this issue and have they had it fixed ?? Fiats only solution is change the cluster at $3000 which im not wanting to do.
Thank You

I googled Ducato 399999 and there are other posts on other forums saying the same, so you are not alone and it looks like a limitation. Didn't see a resolution though I'm afraid.

Had a look on the tuning forums and only easy 'solution' with your own cluster I see is resetting to zero which is probably fine as long as you inform the new owner in the event of a sale

Iv not come across this problem I have old clusters that been off Ducatos for years and the mileage will still be stored on lcd it sound like they’re is a fault with chip inside your cluster but advise you get some diag software and check for any can bus fault I know new units are crazy amounts of money, your options some local repair specialist could remove milage chip from inside your faulty unit and replace from donor unit if they have correct equipment they are able to reprogram your miles onto donor chip , if you remove your instrument unit the part number for cluster is on sticker on the back 10 digit number above bar code if you can find one with same number the chip inside could be used and fitted by specialist ,when we fit donor clusters onto Ducatos for diag checks we can’t proxy align or this can cause trouble on network but your ok to plug another unit on to see what miles do , I think you could find a repair specialist at 1/4 of price of new unit

Could it be worth trying to do a mileage correction in MES and set it at say 400001, just to get over the deadlock of 399999??

Proxy alignment should clear this using multi Ecu scan.
