Hi
Yes it has no battery in it, I do believe it has that glass thing in it as it opens all 4 doors when I open driver or passenger door, I just dont fancy they key sticking in my leg whilst in my pocket, Would Timpson key place cut the blank key from my original ignition key?

Hi,
The transponder (glass tube with copper coil visible) just operates the immoboser when you put the key in the ignition. The multiple door opening will happen with any key. Timpsons or anyother locksmith who do car keys should be able to cut it for you as long as the blank has the same profile as the existing key. Make sure the seller says it's OK for your make model and year of car. Some might not cut blanks you supply or won't accept responsbility if a customer supplied blank does not fit when cut.

do you perhaps know if mes can code keys with transponder that has a code or does it have to be blank?

It depends on the car and security system fitted. I've never tried it though. On the Croma which has the TEG system with codes in 4 ECUs, MES can program the CAR to accept new keys BUT the KEYS have to be pre-coded to the car by the factory or supplier. Very secure but a pain if you loose your key.
To find out for a given car, run MES in simulate mode (not plugged into the car) and see what options you have and what the help box for them says.
Use the latest version, key programming is fairly new to MES. AlfaOBD may have more key programming options for some models.

timpsons won't cut it if I supply blank key fob, they also said they don't do the blank flip key for my key, yet can buy them off ebay ?
I'll look into other key cutters, Timpson are refusing to help.

I hate it when I'm right sometimes.
If you buy a non-flip key blank off them will they cut the flip one instead?

they won't cut any key unless I buy it off them & they claim that the flip key blank they do is for newer fiats & they won't be right size for my key. I've given up with them.

To be fair I got two keys off Ebay. Without them realising I had the mechanical code the first key took the local expert 3 goes before it would open both doors mechanically although it was fine in the ignition and boot first time. They were using an unused spare key as the master copy. For the second key, with them using the mechanical code, it took them two goes before it would fit and it was not totally perfect for the passenger door.

I was thinking it would be a simple job for them but it was evidently a real pain for them to get it right.
