Hello from your latest newbie.

When I holiday in Tuscany my friends lend me their old Panda. It makes light work of the steep hills and hairpin bends on some of the rough rural roads. I see so many of these classic cars that I call the region Pandaland.

I'm looking to increase my knowledge if possible, because I might buy one of these wee workhorses as a "something to tinker with" retirement project. My DIY skills date back to replacing contact breakers in minivans, but I am unable to mend the current generation of posh "computer says NO" vehicles, so something simple and basic will hopefully keep me happy.

Cheers

Peter

Snap! We went on walking holiday in Garfagnana, Tuscany, last summer and saw Pandas in every mountain village. Came home and bought the 2 wheel drive version of the 4 wheel drive Panda. Came with a 1.2 engine that revs freely to 6500 rpm and is great fun to drive. Petrol consumption is not good but, being newly retired, I don't do 25,000 miles a year any more - more like 8000- so don't mind.
