Tipo Newbie!

hey everyone! just purchased my first 2016 model fiat tipo t-jet. love the car but for only a 1.4 I am quiet shocked at how much fuel the car uses. does anyone know if this is normal? tank reads about 320 on full which I no is an estimate but with driving carefully I'm lucky to get 180 miles out of it. the fuel just drops suddenly.

Don't have one myself but if it is similar to the 500X 1.4 MultiAir then the consumption should better as the engine beds in. Treat her gently, done cane it, etc.

When you get a few K miles on the clock then depending on the type of runs you do you should be in the 30 to 40mpg area.

As for Fiat figures then you can basically forget these. Fiat are not lying it is just that the test/methods used for official MPG bear no relationship to reality.

Last point. Do not rely on the on-board MPG data but support/supplement these with you own brim to brim fill-up and mileage logs.

If there is a genuine fuel consumption issue then your personal logs can be used in evidence of the problem and excuses about on-board fuel monitoring being a guide and not accurate can't be tossed in your direction.
