Hi There can anyone help, the heater temperature control knob is stuck on cold and will not turn. I’ve followed the linkage to the lever on the side of the heater which also will not move. Has anyone had this problem? any help will be greatly appreciated
Thanks

Hi what year ducato seen this trouble in 244 and 250 obviously dashes different and removal give us more info ?? E.g My pipe leaks can you help ??,

Do not apply force, the heater controls are toy quality and can easily be damaged. Penetrating oil may help if the air flap is sticking. If the cause is a foreign object blocking things you have no other options than taking the unit apart.

I once had a tiny dead mouse in the air duct...

250 then 1st the gearing can slip in control panel does cause symptoms like this do knobs feel in correct and tight the 2 knobs you can pull out so you might see gearing check that 1st next you could remove drivers side lower dashboard panel (right hand drive) with bright light you will see 2 cable for heat and circulation direction, has any cable come off? also are they tight?is cable moving when knob moved?(warning very tricky to remove and refit cables)remove upper glove box you can see cable for air inlet flap ,,also linkages can come off in matrix box but you have to remove dash to refit them

Thanks for your replies, I have traced the 2 Control cables to the side of the matrix when I detach the heat control cable the linkage arm on the side will not move and I suspect something is stopping it!! Could something like a pencil have fallen down the top cent and jammed it![emoji35]

Pencil ? Quick tip take pollen filter out Iv known them to twist and jam vent behind middle lower glove box if still jammed dash out

same thing happened to my 2.2 it was the switch that was at fault melted wires 25 pds for new switch as it is electronic its an easy diy job remove radio that lets you at screw under switch then remove document holder as screws underneath remove screws unplug switch you might have to use a screw driver to get plug of as plug will be melted on to switch .

I had this problem when I had a 2003 X244.

It took half a day to strip out the dash for access and 2 seconds to find that the flap on the heater had just moved slightly too far and jammed. I moved it backwards a millimetre and the knob worked as normal. It never happened again but I was more careful when moving the knobs.
