Hi, i am completely new to this and i dont know if im even on the right thing! however i bought a 2010 Fiat 500 Lounge and im confused as to what 'blue and me' is and how to use it. I have an iphone 6 and tried to plug it in via the usb port and nothing. So i presumed you have to have an android phone to be able to use it? is this correct? a little help and advice would be appreciated!

With earlier cars (about pre '60 plate) you need this adapter to use an iphone to play music through the speakers using Blue&Me. Click on the "see full description" tab on that website for the compatibility list.

By now it might be possible to buy a secondhand one from any of the well known auction websites.

A much cheaper way to play music is to just put it on a memory stick in .mp3 format.

Thank you! so if i connect my phone can i recieve phone calls and just not play music? or can i not connect my phone at all

First things first; try pairing your phone to the Blue&Me system as described herein;

If it works you can then make and receive phone calls using Blue&Me and voice control. If it does not, then perhaps the iphone6 is not compatible with your vehicle's Blue&Me.

My 2016 Sony M5 phone works perfectly with my 2012 Blue&Me but I cannot stream music to the car - as JR says copy your music to a USB flash drive and plug it into the USB port, you can then select music through the steering wheel buttons.

Blue&Me is the Bluetooth hands-free system. You can pair your phone to the system to make and receive calls.

I looked up the phone compatibility list here;
http://www.blueandme.net/blueandme/index.aspx?brand=fiat&lang=en#/support/compatibilitaCellulari/
but it only goes as far as iphone 5, so whether your phone will work with an older car like yours I really don't know.

Try pairing it and see how you go.

It does list the iphone 6, you just need to filter it by brand. I'd also make sure that you have the latest Blue & Me update done on the vehicle.

Instructions on how to do it can be found here:

Be careful. The latest Blue&Me software won't run on early versions of the hardware. IIRC someone managed to get into a bad situation trying to force a software update the hardware couldn't support.
