USB update!

Hi there,
I’m brand new to this forum, but need help!
My Fiat 500 is March 2011.

My USB until a week ago Blue&me worked absolutely fine. I usually listen to Spotify on my iphone.
Then for no apparent reason- Blue&me reported No USB found.
I followed the instructions on their website. Put in a brand new USB stick, formatted it to FAT32 downloaded the file and extracted the contents of the zip file to the empty USB stick. I disabled blue tooth and turned the car on to MAR.
Nothing- No display. It did not show it was updating. I’ve tried a few times but nothing happens.

I noticed that it was telling me “low memory” so with the advice of another helpful person from this forum I inserted a blank USB to rid of previous data from the last owner. This also did not work.

This is extremely frustrating as I can no longer play any of my music.

Any helpful suggestions would be most welcome.
Thanks in advance.

There have been some issues with the USB port in the vehicle, requiring replacement of the part, your local dealer should be able to supply one.

Thanks I will check out the quick release earth terminal on the battery. much appreciated!!.

Typecastboy- is this an easy thing to do, without causing damage?

Disconnecting the quick release earth connection is quick and easy and cures many issues and with electronics it’s the first thing to try. Just like restarting a computer when it crashes or freezes. Certainly will not do any damage. Press the little red button and just pull upwards. Leave off for a few seconds and then just push back on. Your clock will need to be reset but that’s all.

A low memory message appears if you have EcoDrive enabled but don't connect an EcoDrive prepared usb stick. If you don't want to store trip information on an usb stick for analysis with the EcoDrive pc application, then disable the EcoDrive feature in your car.
