We purchased our 2012 Fiat 500 in August, 2017 and everything was in working order. Roughly 2 weeks later, the driver side headlight needed replacement, I changed both driver/passenger side, all okay. Then into our 3rd week of ownership, the radio wouldn't turn on and also the Odometer is constantly flashing. Read other posts, am I to assume the radio is defective ?

Has the battery been disconnected or flat? Will have to let others answer "proxy alignment " I seem to remember may cure flashing odometer.
You could try disconnecting the battery have a coffee then reconnect cures lots of things, keep key in pocket!

So remove both the negative 1st, positive 2nd leaving the battery disconnected for roughly an hour. Won't this mess up the cam's memory status, I would of thought the mechanic shop would have done that or am I wrong ?

If battery disconnect does not cure it, you need to do a proxi-alignment. The faults indicate a CAN bus issue (CAN is the network that the car's modules use to communicate) A flashing odometer indicates that the units on the bus do not match what the computer thinks should be there. As the radio is on the CAN bus it can cause this fault. Have you checked the radio's fuses? To do a proxi alignment you need Fiat specific software. Either a Fiat dealer or specialist or if you are going to do your own maintenence get a copy of Multiecuscan www.multiecuscan.net and a ELM 327 to USB adaptor.

I disconnected the Negative lead for about 10 minutes, reconnected it, radio still off and odometer still flashing I only had to reprogram the date and time ! Hoping 10 minutes was long enough, don't believe you specified how long to leave it disconnected

Okay to close out my issue, contacted a Fiat Dealership for a refurbished radio on Sept.25th, received 2 days later. Oct.5th they replaced the original radio which was found to be shorted out from a leaking Car Vent Clip Air Freshener.
I was getting ready to leave, noticing the Odometer still flashing, walked back in, mechanic confused when I asked if he did a Proxy Alignment then his boss agreed, took 5 minutes, now I'm happy again.

Future NOTES don't use "Febreze Car Vent Clip Air Freshener" above the radio and Thank You "John202020" for all your help
