Hi all, just got a 2013 1.3 Mulitjet Sport from England and having some trouble with it. Looking for recommendations of garages who know Fiats well. Would also appreciate some help from someone locally who knows about setting up and using multiecuscan (got cables and downloaded software but can't get it to connect) Based on the Lisburn side of Moira. Issues with the car have been a "stop start not available, check engine" warning and black residue found on the bodywork around the exhaust with a visible but not bad puff when the turbo kicks in. Many thanks, Tom

Hi Tom, in also a Tom with a 1.3 mjet sport living in Dromore. Take the car a good run up the M1. It's possible the dpf needs a regen. If the car has been doing alot if short journeys then the dpf could be clogged. When my dpf regens there's a proper bellow of smoke. It's like something from whacky races (I do have a tunebox connected). Also I've read on here that a low battery can cause stop start issues. A new battery may be required.

I have multiecu scan. I could meet you somewhere and plug it in to see whats up.

There's a fiat/Alfa specialist mechanic in Lisburn in the industrial park on the left as you head to Lisburn from the Moira rd roundabout. I've never dealt with him although another forum member in the panda section had issues with them regarding a dodgy timing chain change.

Thanks for the replies and advice guys. So it was DPF blockage, had an error code P2002 Particulate Filter (2nd Clogg level exceeded) but on giving it a hard run up the motorway the sensor has fried with the heat of the exhaust gasses, probably too blocked to regen properly??? It's in the garage at the minute getting sorted. It has 41,000 miles! Will get the battery checked when the DPF is sorted but airbag sensor light came on too!!! not having a good run of it am I???

Whilst a bit young the engine earth strap can corrode and cause issues with all sorts cheap and easy to replace (under battery tray) if you do get a new battery shop around it won't be cheap £100 or so, not sure if the Batterymegastore deliver in Ireland worth a check?
