Just a quick post to say hi

After lurking on this forum ever since I purchased my first car - 2006 Grande Punto Active 1.2 a few months ago, I have decided to make an account and 'join in' (y)

I picked the car up for a whopping £550 with 49k miles on her.

A few niggles here and there but that's what you guys are here for :p

I'll update with photos when I hit five posts!

Larger version of my avatar attached :)

Cheers!

Thanks Robert,

At the moment, the passenger side electric window only works when the door is open - my uneducated thoughts are potentially could be a kinked/worn cable.

The slave cylinder is quite squeaky, and the steering kind of knocks when I steer at low speeds (potential top strut bearing from my findings on here).

Should be a fun couple of weekends coming up while I sort these out. My only issue is having zero knowledge and tools :p something I hope to remedy!

Thanks

I just had a top strut mount changed to fix that very problem so you may be on the right lines there...

You look to have a lot of car for £550 and of course reading this forum you'll realise they never go wrong :slayer:

Ha! Well if they never broke what would we do in our spare time? ;P

Regarding the strut mount, after looking at what the job entails, I think it's way out of my depth to do myself (don't fancy a spring going haywire in my face) I'm beginning to consider putting it into the garage to be done.

Is this what you done? And would you (or anyone) be able to give me a rough idea of the cost on a job like this?

Thanks in advance!

I felt exactly the same way mate and indeed I found an excellent and very reasonable mechanic who sorted all my issues for a keen price, but it included several other jobs:

There is a guide kindly provided in the section above: https://www.fiatforum.com/grande-pu...ice-replacement-front-spring-replacement.html

but I don't have the kit and also felt a little scared at the potential spring getting lose taking off my head bit...

Sorry I can't be of more help!
