Have a leak on the drivers side axel where it connects to the gearbox and want to replace the seal, taken off wheels, brakes and now have a free axel but it won't budge? Any ideas thanks

It will be held in by a snap ring. Carefully lever out with two levers. I presume you have drained the gearbox already.

Drain the gearbox oil, and as said above try two big screwdrivers or prise bars they can get "stuck" but are generally not hard with the right tools. And don't pull on the shaft.
