Hi there,
I recently bought a 2007 Grande Punto Eleganza and the Blue & Me seem to work perfectly well with my phone. It paired immediately and I transferred my contacts without difficulty.
However, I'm struggling with the Aux mode which I'd like to use to hook my phone up to play music. Can anyone help please?
I bought the kit with the Aux plug (male) on the end and the video to fit it was pretty straightforward. I got the stereo out without difficulty but mine didn't look anything like on the YouTube video and had loads of stuff already plugged in.
I've been reading around the internet and it seems that with my year car (2007 model) I shouldn't even need the Aux plug at all - I should be able to plug my phone into the USB inside the glove box, set my stereo to Aux and boom!
Can't get the stereo in Aux mode though - oh dear.
Sorry for long post! I do go on a bit

You should be able to get MultiMedia mode; that'd be the USB port in the glovebox...

Hiya - thanks for replying.

Sorry for being thick but could you elaborate please?

What steps should I take to get into Multimedia mode?

I plug my phone in via the USB in the glove box and then what?

Cheers in advance (y)

Before attempting to do with your phone, we need to confirm the thrick works ;;
- have a few MP3s on an USB stick FAT32 formated, reasonable size (4 or 8 GB way enough)
- insert in the USB port in the glove box
- start the car
- from the wheel buttons hit the SRC to browse to MultiMedia
- the MP3s should play from the stick
- next step would be to cable connect your phone on the same port
- and hopefully enjoy your Spotify playlist ...

Brilliant! Thanks so much Bernie, will give it a try later (y)

Brilliant, brilliant, ... let's see if that work first !! ;-)

If your punto has Blue&Me fitted, you may need to press the voice command button on the steering wheel and say "PLAY" after the beep. This should prompt it to start playing MP3's from your USB stick.

I should point out, that if you are connecting your phone, it was only compatible with iphone with a blueandme adapter. Android phones don't seem to work with it, especially if it has internal storage as well as an external sd card slot (the B&M usb can only detect one drive, not multiple on a phone)

Go with Bernies advice, and use the voice prompt above if you still can't play it.

Couldn't get it to work Bernie :( Just read in another thread that it might be because I used a Sandisk USB stick - something about the system recognising it as a hard dis, I think? Just my luck - will have to transfer the MP3s to another stick......will try and find a non-branded one (y)

Thanks for that - I'll probably have to refer to the manual to find the voice command button though :D

So many knobs and buttons!

On some cars the voice command is a mike-like button; on others it's a little spitting profile, and on the Blue&Me it's the Windows flag on the left branch of the wheel...

Regarding the stick, you had good information: some manufacturer do format their drive so it looks like an HDD (for some reason that I don't know) for the OS. The USB port needs to see a Flash Memory based device (need 2B confirmed). You could reformat your Sandisk, that would delete the internal "manager" and then reload the MP3s, or better use a 'normal' stick; the one currently in my car is a Kingston DTSE serie, 8GB, FAT32 formated and it works perfect ! I believe there is an upper limit where the stick won't be recognized so I'd try with a 'small' one first...

BTW, when you insert your Sandisk USB stick in your computer, does it show as TWO devices ? (two letters) That would be an indication of a 'manager' boring us ;-)

It's possible that the Sandisk actually worked - I didn't know the correct command to start it playing...DOH!:bang: All okay now I know the 'magic word' MEDIA PLAYER (y)

Wish I'd known that command before transferring all 712 MP3s to a generic USB stick but hey-ho, I got there in the end.

Thanks for your help everyone

YW Lokie - good luck with your daughter's setup (y)

On balance, I actually prefer using a USB stick to my phone because I can just leave it plugged in - no need to worry about connecting / disconnecting my mobile. The steering wheel controls make it so easy to skip through tracks too - I bet she's going to love it

This is the perfect example of what happens when people post their final update and/or search the forum before asking...

Well done Guys !

That's the beauty of forums - a bunch of strangers coming together to give and get help (y)

I'd have happily hit the thanks button a few times in this thread Bernie but I can't see one? :(

Seems that for some dark reason, the thanks icon (the smilling smilley) is missing from certain posts... There should be a good explanation for that, but honestly I never looked for it :-(
Maybe a modo could tell us ?
