Hi,
Looking for advice on replacing the drivers side seat belt on my daughters 500 pop.

Just bought her the car and have already found on here how to replace the broken door handle hinges. Only other issue with the car is the sticking passenger seat belt. I have sourced a good second hand one, but on first looking i notice that there is an electrical plug connected to the reel. Am i OK to unplug / reconnect this or should i leave it to the experts ? Also some advice on how to access the reel would be appreciated.

Many Thanks,

20 minute job. You have to remove the rear seats though.

After that, undo the rubber seal round the door pillar and unscrew the plastic kick plate and the two screws on the front of the rear side panel. Undo the top bolt. Take off the plastic trim where the top of the seat belt was bolted in. You can then pull back the rear panel enough to get to it.

DISCONNECT THE EARTH LEAD NOW!

Disconnect the lead going to the seatbelt and undo the single bolt. The seatbelt will then just lift away.

Put the new one in and replace everything. Be careful how much you tighten the top bolt as if it's too tight it restricts the release of the belt. It could even be this that's causing the belt to stick. It's worth loosening that a bit first.
