Hello
I need to verify the spark plug type for the 1.2L engine. I have a 500S manufactured 2013. The handbook is quoting the same plug for the 1.2 & 1.4 petrol engines. Thanks a lot in advance.

Probably, someone will be along shortly to advise you of a better alternative iridium, but when I swapped out my own on our old 1.2, I just bought 4 genuine Fiat boxed plugs which are NGK plugs anyway. From experience, the Fiat plugs are normally only good for around 11k miles max and by that time, they are pretty shot. They are easy enough to change for a competent home mechanic. If you don't have one, I recommend a trip to Halfords or the like to buy a Haynes Manual.

Here is link to a Fiat dealer flogging genuine Fiat boxed ones, but as always, it is your responsibility to check the part number before purchase. A quick phone call with your VIN is all that is needed:

NGK website seems to say they are compatible

JK recommended these to me though I've not replaced them yet for our 2009

Can't see what type of plug the cheaper one is but given the price they are probably not long life, the Iridium ones are good for 5 years.

The plugs face backwards at various angles, access is limited to a degree but no real problem, just be careful putting the new ones in, do it by hand to ensure they're not cross threaded put some oil on the threads to help, age dependent the air box needs to be pushed down at the rear to lock onto the pins not "placed on" check the breather hoses condition too.
