Hi,
The radio has power, I have the code, the radio says wait, I have waited a couple of weeks now. Is there anything else I can do?
Thanks Nigel.

The display shows the "WAIT" message because someone has tried too many incorrect codes. To clear it, you need to leave the radio and ignition switched on continuously until the display shows "CODE" and/or " - - - - ", then enter the correct code.

Depending on how many times an incorrect code has been tried, the waiting time can be up to 24 hours.

Well I have learned something today... I'm surprised it can lockout for upto 24 hours!! Thats mad!

I guess you pull it out the car and wire it directly to the car battery or a spare car battery in a heath robinson manner to acheive this, sure alot of people can't really leave the ignition on for that long, not unless you have a garage you can lock the car up in.

Thanks Davren, that was the correct answer. Two keys is the answer to the next thread. Turn the ignition on in the evening, lock the door with the second key and in the morning Hey presto a flat battery! But jump start the car and the radio is ready to recode.

If you're handy with electronics, find an old plug/power brick that outputs 12v (surely we all have old electronics that we no longer use but keep around), cut the end of the wire off and connect it straight up to the radio indoors, can leave it on as long as you like then.

i did have, but when i last moved it dawned on me that that box of old rtansformers, wires etc had sat in the cupboard the whole time and before that in the attic of my old house and i never ever needed anything from it.... so i threw it all out. I do have a few car looms kicking about though, extra wire for repairing old crusty wires on cars is always good (y)
