Hi to all,
I am a big fan of the Bravo and have had mine since 2008.
It's now starting to need the odd bit of work and I'm at a point in my life that I fancy getting my hands mucky and save myself some money.
I just cleaned out the EGR valve and it started up which to me is success. The proof will be in the pudding if I actually manage to get it down the road and get the engine warning light off.
I had a slight worry with a tiny amount of smoke rise in hip from between the fan and main engine block but I'm suspecting that was bit of oil on a warm part when I revved it hard. But no black smoke out of the exhaust which was better than recent times.
My only concern now is the knocking that isn't new but but still bugging me.
Any suggestions on what the knocking is and how to get rid of it (if you give advice please use short words and make it idiot proof as I'm a complete novice and would know what a carburettor from a starter motor).
Oh it's a 57 plate Bravo 1.9 diesel 150 sport.
Thanks in advance for helping out a complete newbie.

Hi, and welcome,

Knocking..? well it's not a carburettor - your diesel ain't got one.. ;)

is it from the engine, or suspension?.

favourite on modern cars is a little metal rod on the front suspension - generally known as a "drop-link"

SEARCH on the forum is excellent.. :)
