Hi!
Just bought a black 1.4 8v for my son
All good but now have eml on! Did scan it and said camshaft position sensor so changed it. Still the same. Disconnected battery. Still same .
No power at all and won't rev above 3500 rpm. I could walk faster!
Any ideas before I set fire to it?
Many thanks

Hi,:)
after a cambelt change , the slightly less stretched belt means the signal from the top and bottom sensors are different,, hence the EML

either get the place that did it to realign the sensors properly,

or get a ProxyAlignment done

Hi, sorry for my english

check sensor crankshaft pulley

is magnetic and if changing belt and hit fault

Thanks for reply
Belt not been changed...
I cannot get it to rev beyond 3500, sometimes 4000 rpm
It's the weirdest thing ever!

Been told that this car only likes Bosch marelli sensors... Is this right? When I changed the camshaft sensor out it wasn't one of those!

Well new twist
Put another Bosch sensor in and still no power and still saying camshaft position sensor on bank 1... Guess it's set fire to the thing. Has NOONE got any idea what's going on. No power and won't rev past 4000 now and really feels like it's missing a bit on idle

If you've tried another sensor then it's likely the timing is out. If the cambelt has slipped a tooth, then the ECU will flag a warning because the crank and cam sensors are out of sync, therefore limiting the power.

Only way to know for sure is to get it hooked up to a diagnostic that can give live information from the sensors and see if the cam sensor is giving feedback on the position. If it is, then the timing may be out, in which case, you'll be looking at the cambelt next.

MultiECUScan will give you the necessary info for diagnostic, and the software + cables are cheaper than a Fiat Dealership diagnostic.
