hi,
I have a punto, the inner rear arch has rusted away, I have been looking for a made up replacement.
I can find the quarter panel itself, and the inner plastic linner, is the not a inner metal panel part replacement about?
be great if anyone knows anything or has had similar issue
thanks

As Flisko says, the only way to get a replacement is from Fiat for many ££££'s. To be honest, once they've gone in this area then unless the rest is mint it's time to say goodbye.

ok, I have only found quarter panels for sale and plastic arch liners, you say they do have inner arches made up, where could I find these please.
if any one has done any inner arch repairs/welding it would be great to here how that went and what they go to do it?
yeah I am planning to do this myself to keep the cost down and as the rest of the car is ok its probably worth doing this fix.

as said if the rust is up the inner rear wheel arches its probably best to scrap the car
ive never seen repair panels
if i were to attemt a repair here then its a full strip out and fuel tank removal
you will probably struggle just getting seatbelts out
if you still want to go ahead then it would be best to get a thin bodyshop type chisel and cut one out in a scrappies and then make it fit your car

good luck
oh and check the floorpans before you start:)

No, I've not seen panels either. we've welded a couple up at work but it's only viable because we get the apprentice to do it.

I'd advocate making your own repair panel, I have done plenty of mk2 golfs and e30s, once it's all cut out the repair panels are easy to make from sheet metal, the hideous bit isn't normally that big in terms of the panel usually just localised perforation and cut it all out and away you go, you either commit fully in the shed or it is never financially viable, good luck

In fact it's not normally financially viable even when you do it yourself, just thank my wife for that as she investigates what I'm writing.

ok cool, might try cutting it out of another car, see how that goes
