Well I went for it and bought an 06 Active Multijet 120 to replace my Berlingo, Everything seems promising so far, but I'm missing the back trims for the wing mirrors, and actually could do with a new driver side mirror complete, any suggestions where to get, or are the Ebay ones about the right price? Little niggles are the clips are all broken off the parcel shelf speaker grilles but all the broken clips are there and could probably be glued back.

Connected up via the OBD and no faults showing so that's encouraging too. The first FIAT in the family for 30 years, the last one being my grandfathers Regatta!

I have been looking around the forum for a couple weeks now in advance of buying and will no doubt be looking for help and advice in the weeks to come.

Regards
Tom

Hi Tom, and welcome to FF, :)

there are a few parts specialists we tend to use on the forum;)

use ePER to get the part numbers 1st

Regata.. takes me right back,...:D

thanks for the reply Charlie, any chance you can advise on tail light wiring colours, there is an unfinished reversing sensor install in a box in the boot and could do with advise on which wires to tap.

Thanks.

After doing a few jobs including repairing the speaker grilles and finishing the reversing sensors, just left with a dpf blockage which hopefully some heavy right foot should help with and a little bit of paintwork to tidy up and it's coming together well. Even with the dpf blockage and engine light on it still feels a much better drive than the Berlingo it's replacing.

And thanks Charlie for the pointers on the wiring.

DPF = look at the threads covering the "oil degradation index"

biggest headache with the little engines.:(

Thanks, will have a read when I get home.....

Having switched to a USB adaptor and finding connection to multiecuscan much more reliable I have checked the dpf clogging which is 101% and showing normal clogging and the oil degradation is on 46% so oil change is planned for the other side of Xmas so that I know where I am and can keep a better eye what's going on.

Where does 101% fit in in the grand scheme of things, worth a forced regeneration or better let it try and do its own thing first?

Hi,

I'm no expert on the DPF but I've had my fair share of DPF woes.

Since buying a copy of MES I've been keeping an eye on clogging levels etc. Checking it every 100 miles or so, and I'm slowly drawing a graph of what's going on.

In short it looks like the regeneration occurs at about 107% and it increases in clogging at the rate of 10% for between 50 and 70 miles travelled. 50 miles for town driving and 70 for longer journeys

This is a limited study so take with a pinch of salt!

So my guess is that in about 30 miles or so yours should do a regeneration.

Cheers

Ron

Thanks Ron, quick update, mes is now showing successful regeneration 30 miles ago at 466 degrees and now 98.7% clogging. Surprised me that it was successful considering I have done no decent runs to warm anything up so maybe the Wynn's dpf additive I put in did make a difference.

Back to the DPF issues, the Doblo threw an Engine Failure a couple days ago which I reset and it came back within a mile of cold running, I noticed the light has gone off today on a fairly short 10 minute run, but there is a noticeable laziness on acceleration. Any thoughts before I get home and get the laptop out. I did notice when I reset it the couple days ago it reckons its 450+ miles since the last regeneration.

Will get the laptop out later and see if anything stands out.

Hi,

I can't help much but when I had an "Engine Failure" and P1206 error code showing up in MES I found that the solenoid end of the EGR was sticking. First of all I checked the MAP and MAF sensors which looked OK and then the EGR.

https://www.fiatforum.com/doblo/443017-finally-happened-error-code-p1206.html

Discovered afterwards that you can test the EGR solenoid function somewhere in MES.

If it's not working properly, you can get the solenoid end of the EGR off without taking the body of EGR from the manifold (which is a sod of a job).

Cheers

Ron

Well, after the egr, map and maf all checking out ok and the differential pressure pipe blowing its self apart I gave in and got a new aftermarket dpf. Its like a different engine now. Worst part was trying to get the temperature sensor and pressure pipes off the old one, but by no means impossible.
