Qubo Battery draining

Qubo Battery draining

Just to clarify, all blue&me control units are black with a blue connector and are all the same across the entire fiat and Alfa range. I'm only that sure because I have replaced dozens of them. Hope this helps everyone

Yept, your spot on burrowsdeano as per the colour, looked silver in the glow of a LCD torch....it is black. But 50/50, my cables are still different, and its still under passenger seat.....haha.
Still, main thing is that our friend Bissell gets his motor sorted.....
Cheers Qube O.

Thanks again chaps! I managed to disconnect it, the wheels didn't fall off and fingers crossed its done the trick. If so, I will weep with joy! It's been a problem since I bought it and I'd lost all faith in getting any Fiat dealers (and I've been three times to different ones) to sort it.
Oh, and I am a female Bissell, btw!

Just a quick update: it seems to have done the trick! I drove the car last night and it's doing the 'stop and go' thing again, a good indicator of a charged battery's! Yay!
And as an aside, I had been corresponding with Fiat customer services about the problem. They came back to me yesterday and said there was no way I could disable the Blue and Me, it could not be done! I had to disavow them of that!
So thanks again everyone who helped, you have not only saved me money but given me peace of mind.

Hi Bissell

Very same issue here.

My auto electrician want to charge 120.00 to bypass Bluetooth control unit.

Is it possible just to unplug its power?

Hi, same thing happend to mine when i first got the car, unplug the blue socket, get one on ebay and sometimes it can be as little as £10, like the other member said, any blue and me should compatible, as least i tried other none Qubo on mine and it worked.

Hello there,
as a point of interest does the odo stop flashing after unplugging the Blue and Me power?
I ask because I have replaced the radio with one of those Chinese touchscreen units making the Blue and me redundant and have often wondered about disconnecting it completely

I wonder how the mechanic knew the fault was caused by the Blue and Me.

A point for others with battery problems, a common source of battery drain is the alternator regulator pack. The check is to clip an ammeter between the battery earth and connector clamp, disconnect the alternator and see if the drain goes away.

As that means cutting all power you will need to reset the dashboard clock when done.

I'll try that on my 2016 Qubo - the battery goes down too quickly in the winter even tho it was replaced a year ago.
It gets to the point it won't start even tho there's enougth power for central locking, indicators etc turns over at normal speed once or twice then automatically stops. Last time it happened was when Fiat dealer changed battery & said battery was faulty which I assumed was right as it sorted it.
I'm used to older cars where if there was that much power in the battery it would keep cranking??
I've pulled the blue plug out & will charge it & see...................

Indicators and locks are tiny loads compared to cranking an engine full of cold oil

What engine and gearbox is this ?

Some behave differently
1.3 Multijet - Manual gearbox

Odd thing is it doesn't turn slowly before stopping, just very briefly then stops as if key released even tho still held over?

How did it do with a 2nd earth cable ?
Earth cable wasn't the issue, but after unplugging 'Blue n me' plug my smart charger will now charge it ok where as last night with the plug still in the charger just kept throwing up an error code n wouldn't charge...................... so i'll see now if it holds its charge better with the plug out but it deffinitely feels like a step in the right direction..........Thanks
