Hi, I had two spiders long ago and am looking to get back into one. I'll be looking at a '79 model on Saturday and was looking for advice on what to look for.
They say the engine had the short block rebuilt 8000 miles ago, the heads looked good so they did no work on them while the engine was out of the car. New top, seats, door panels, and a Weber 32ADF carb was put on along with "the correct intake manifold" to match the new carb. I was under the impression the 124 came with a 32ADF so can someone tell me if this carb is a significant improvement over the factory carb? From the pictures I can't tell if the smog stuff is still there.
