Hi There everyone.
Just bought a Punto a month ago, so I thought i join the forum. I like working on cars as a hobby. So anything that goes wrong with the car is something different for me to learn and hopefully dont need to take it to a garage.
So heres a question for everyone on holiday i managed to knock my exhaust but got it replaced, but engine light is constantly on. I need to know what fault finder is compatible with a fiat Punto 2002? Would appreciate any help.
thanks Claire

If the engine light is on, it could be any one of a number of issues. But, before we descend into gloom, this is related to the exhaust replacement.
In the exhaust are two oxygen sensors. My guess is one of them is disconnected.

When the engine is cold, open the bonnet and look at the manifold. A short way down should be the first sensor, with a wire to a plug.
Now follow the exhaust down. Soon after the catalyst will be another sensor. Should also be plugged in. If not, find the plug and plug them together.

If that all seems ok, it will need plugging into either a dealer diagnostic unit, (last resort), or a wonderful program called MultiECUScan (MES). Many members on here have this, so update your profile to show location. Hopefully someone will be close enough to help out.

Hi there everyone!!!!
Thanks for welcoming me to the Forum and thanks guys for your advice will order the Fault finder to arrive Thursday. Have some time off work next week and will start looking at the problem. Will let you know how I got on. If there an issue with the car i see it as a new project. Like something to do on cars as people have gathered. Fiats are so good to work on.
Claire :)
