Hi all, the other half and I have just bought a lovely little 100hp that I'm really looking forward to picking up this week. Its done a fair few miles but has loads of history so hoping it will serve us well as a fun little second car, no doubt I'll be on here in the near future looking for advice! :)

Welcome along, they are tough little cars and very little goes wrong even with big mileages, there is a huge knowledge base on the forum so we look forward to seeing some photo's and updates of your new family member (y)

Thanks very much fellas, thats good/a relief to hear re the mileage - its the highest mileage car I've ever bought (and the first Italian) so must admit I was worried, but the history and condition leads me to believe its been very well looked after! I've had a thing for 100hp's for ages so looking forward to picking up tomorrow. Just need to work out how to upload pics on here and I'll get some taken! :)

Righto just worked out how to add pics so here's the pic I took on Sunday when we viewed the car, gets picked up in the morning (would have been today if not for the robbing insurance co. wanting to relieve us of an extra £60 for the privilege ) :

Cheers Asa, 99,400 - highest mileage car we've ever had by far, but this is a second car runabout so won't be doing loads of miles in it from now on in. We looked at a few and this was the best and runs really well, bonnet is quite badly chipped which lets it down a bit but will get that looked at, other than that its very tidy for its age. Apart from a bit of wear on the steering wheel and drivers seat the interior is pretty mint too. Fingers crossed she's got a few thousand more in her yet!

Lovely...DROOL.

The FIRE engines are tough..

Car looks cracking, I was after a blue one but had to settle for grey...still love it.
Word of caution, get underneath it and check the lower spring mounts (connected to the axle).
One of mine just failed and new part is over £800 quid before fitting.
I've raised it with fiat UK as I'm not the first person this has happened too, apparently also happens on the 500's but will have to wait and see what they say.
If yours are looking rough it would be prudent to have a bit of welding done now to add extra material!

Thanks very much for the heads up Ricky, yeh I've seen a few threads on here where thats been raised, I have checked them out and they don't look anywhere near as bad as the pics I've seen where they've snapped, but I'm going to get the car jacked up at the weekend and have a proper look and make sure. Thats the only thing I've read about the car that scares me a bit so far, so will try and avert disaster before it happens. It's a pretty shocking price to get fixed if it does go

Good luck with Fiat anyway, let us know how you get on (y)
