Hi guys for a while now the blowers in my punto have been failing. Sometimes they don't come on, but a whack on the dash always gets them going. Also they don't blow at a constant speed. Ie speeds up then slows down. Also making a loudish noise. Kind of like a motorbike engine. I'm presuming this is more than a loose fuse? Now they've stopped completely. Thanks in advance for any advice on the possible problems.
Regards
Jim

Just one other question. Is the fuse box behind the glove box in a right hand drive fiat?

My car needed a new fan motor. But I didn't pay Fiat prices.

The part is identical to a Vauxhall Corsa/Astra. I got mine replaced for a £100 fitted :)

Your symptoms suggest the fan motor is bearings are getting tight. Difficult to free them off, or to lubricate them properly. WD40 is NOT the right answer.

A new fan motor can probably be sourced from Ebay. You'd need to check a manual to see how easy it is to replace. Fairly easy on the Panda. The Punto that was a 'twin' with the Corsa should be easy. The first Corsas had a problem with failing motors and replacement was done quickly at the Vauxhall dealer, access fairly easily after glovebox removal. Earlier models of Punto should hopefully be just as easy.

Correct place for this query would be the section for your Punto model. There you'll get better replies, as specific owners are more likely to see it and reply.
