Hi, I'm hoping someone can give me guidance

My Grande Punto Dynamic 1.4 Auto has just had the Transmission Failure light come on, It's not been used for 4 weeks but always been a good runner and no problem.

first thing I'm trying to do is change the oil, but having it jacked up, I can't see the normal allan key for draining and filling, have anyone got details of where they located on the dualogic gearbox

cheers

Wrong Punto my friend

The Mk2 was 1999 - 2003
Mk2b 2003 - 2006
Grande Punto 2006 - 2012

Eitherway, check the rear lights havent developed the disco light effect, often a corroded earth causing other lights to activate (Which the gearbox ecu see's) freaks it out - and puts up the warning

Its cheap and easy thing to check/do

Cheers for advice will check as battery was low.

also don't know how to change thread to right model of punto :bang:

lights all ok, doesn't seem prob with earth

Hi, :)

duologic;

often it's low duologic fluid (clear reservoir on top of g-box)

may need to be connected to laptop and purge air if been low for too long..

however - a low battery can cause the sensors to act weird.. ( not seeing the voltages they were anticipating)
get the battery charged, then read the fault codes..IF any are stored,

had diagnostic tested, got code P1773 Hydraulic pressure present, wondering if it is the fluid level as mentioned (have you got link to gearbox as nothing making sense and mate who got code doesn't know anything about them)

also got code P0480 Fan 1. Open Circuit, Present ?

cheers

You can google the P ... codes for a basic idea

Fiat specific software is better.

Grandes suffer weird stuff with a poor battery/ power supply..I would deal with that first...

Did your mate CLEAR the codes..or just get the numbers??

have googled fault but can't find anything detailing gearbox and filling, as can't find allan key drain/fill plugs like manual box

my mate has a Autel maxisys wouldn't say he's mastered it, but watched him clear codes but they came back, he cleared a couple of times and tried a couple of things but he's doesn't know fiats well.

car has only 22000 mile normally had no probs but sat for a month over the cold spell.

cheers

Use SEARCH in 'advanced'. Put dualogic in top left

And grande punto in lower right..then you will get duologic specific results.

You are looking for a clear plastic tank on OUTSIDE of gearbox..that fluid is what does the gearchanging

The gearbox is basically a manual one

Unless youve got a major leak..id not top that up...concentrate on finding info on here regarding the 'selespeed/dualogic fluid'
