So... I need a little advice.

I got my new shiney Fiat 500 Lounge last weekend.... and today I woke up and some awesome person had stolen my passanger side wing mirror glass.. yay.

I took it to halfords to see if I could get some glass, and the guy wasnt very clear and said ' Theyve taken the plastic clips too, that'll be a Fiat fix' So I assumed they had taken more than just the glass... but now I'm wondering if he means the plastic on the other side of the glass which clips onto the Motor.

I took a photo.. im confused!

that's really annoying, :bang:
in my experience you don't need to adjust the LHS mirror by much..
I'd get a £3.95 replacemnet lens from ebay, and just double sided tape it to your remaining plastic baseplate

will do 95% the same job, and look perfect

I was so gutted this morning, people are such morons.

I've already ordered a new mirror which was £13 and is apparently genuine fiat and will fit 500 that are 2012 > ( the one in the photo) So hopefully it'll fit!

Just wondered if anyone could see if there was anything else missing...

Have a look at this thread. Obviously you don't need to do most of this, but it shows you how the whole thing goes together. And condolences, but at least be grateful that the thief didn't break the rest of the mirror assembly.

I can't see anything obviously missing in your photo; IIRC the clips are on the back of the glass. The glass just pushes on; it's a firm push. I'd suggest you check that the motor is operating correctly before you try to refit the glass; if there are any problems with this, they need to be fixed first. Remember to connect the wires for the heating element before pushing the glass home. Take great care when doing this - both the wires and the connectors on the glass are rather fragile and easily damaged.

Post again if you have any problems, and do come back and tell us how you got on.

I checked this morning and it still moved and didnt sound damaged, which is why I assumed it would be ok with just popping the glass back on!

I'm going to Fiat on thursday for it cleaning properly anyways, so I guess they will put the glass on for me . the Halfords guy seemed to think something major was missing with his response, I thought the whole thing would need to be changed when he said that! Looking back on it I guess he knew a 16 plate would have the motorised mirrors and need the Fiat fit clips. Doh.

AFAIK the FIAT lens will have the plastic tabs on the back already..,
the £3.95 one is JUST a plain lens

Oh no! It's a 65 plate but registered this year ... My bad wording!
