Hi sorry have trouble finding my way around, my gearbox 5 gear no longer works wont stay in and now reverse is playing up, ive had it repaired once but the guy botched it, only way now is to replace it, can a vauxhall gearbox be fitted, dont want to pay a thousand pounds having a recon or mine taken out and repaired again

Hi just read of your gearbox trouble,I would think that as Fiat fitted a lot of GM parts that your gearbox is probably iether a F17 for a 1.8 or F23 for a 2.2 have look on ebay for one that was fitted to a Vectra Zafira or Signum

looks as if it IS an M32 gearbox you need,

gearbox is common to the Grande Punto 1.9's - but I was not so sure in the Croma

Well you may have to find someone else to soon worship as my memory and experience of looking after my old Croma are rapidly fading as time goes by

This car is the sum of GM+FIAT (+OTHERS as all modern cars in the world) parts and the manual gearbox is GM....I know of other persons who had problems with it.
Ironically the Croma automatic gearbox (AISIN WARNER), as I have been testing, is infinitely more resistant (405.000 km till now)
