Hello folks Im a newbie here and a Yank (yet I dislike the NY Yankees) My Friend has a 2001 Fiat punto mia 1.2. she says that her Main beam lights are on when her car is on. Do these vehicles have have the automatic driving lights? she said it just started. I have that feature in my 2010 chevy Equinox

Hi, and welcome,:)

I'm guessing it's a UK car..??:confused:

FIAT's from the 80's to 00's had a novel feature whereby you could leave the lights switch ON at the "stalk" switch permanently,

the lights ( and 95% of all power) go OFF with the ignition switch:cool:

then it all comes back on with the ignition switch..,

I hope this makes sense - otherwise you MAY have an issue, :confused:

the car is a Punto Mk2 so post any further findings in the Punto 2/B section,;)

Thank you Charlie. yes the fiat in question is a UK car. I asking for a friend who lives in London. She was concerned that it may be illegal to have the lights on during the day,:) how would she shut off that feature?

Hi,
it's not ILLEGAL,:)
as long as they are DIPPED ..
the HIGH BEAM on permanently would be an issue:eek:

the switch on the Left Hand stalk twists to choose MODE;
OFF,
side lights,
Main headlights

the "Parking Lights" are operated via the ignition key barrel;)

:idea:look in the Downloads section - FF BANNER - top of homepage to get a copy of the users manual..;)
