1999 seicento very good condition low mileage except for at last mot the garage advised sorting rusty sub frame i was told it was what was described as bubbly surface rust i am unable to get under the car to see for myself what would your advise be take it to a garage to have rust removed and sealer put on or find a local welder to do the job unfortunately my LATE brother was my go to person but i have no one to ask now so any advise would be great thanks

For the price of a visit to a garage, purchase a jack and some axle stands (the latter being very important) and do it yourself.

You will then have the equipment should you need to go under the car in the future (you will).

I'm sure one of the others will shout at me for this....but my solution 5 years ago was to scrape off all the surface rust with a screwdriver, then brush painted it with two coats of black hull paint (similar to hammerite, but a bit thicker) and one of clear hull sealant.
