HELP! My daughters have lost both of their remote keys for their 2012 fiat 500 sport.
I purchased the car new and have the key code - mechanical code card.
I am getting mixed information as to whether we can get a key only for now and pray that one of the remotes shows up. Does anyone know if we can get just a key that we could use for now which I can order online? Car in Boston, Dad (me) in Chicago.

Once a new key is programmed by the dealer the old remotes will be blocked permanently and can't be reprogrammed by the dealer if you find them again later. Keys need to be ordered through the dealers specifically for your car as they come already part programmed to your specific car.
It is possible to add a key and keep the old remotes in the system. But the dealers can't do it. You need a good auto locksmith. Not sure how up on Fiat locksmiths are in your part of the world.

You should have two codes a 5 digit code which is the vehicles immobiliser code for programming keys. Plus a mechanical code starting DE which is the cuts for the key.
Unfortunately these by themselves are not enough as they don't give you the coding that needs to be in the key first before the car will accept it.
Your stuck with either the dealer or if you can find one an Auto Locksmith who knows Fiat. Either way your better of letting them supply the key.
