Hi All, I'm new to the forum and for the want of a better expression I'm in the Poo!
Looks like I put half a tank of contaminated fuel in my Ducato, thought originally that it was just the filter so changed that and still have the same issue. Got to Inverness and a local garage emptied the tank and replaced the filter again and we are still having the same problems, it ran for approx 10 miles and the started to have reduced power and a bit of coughing when the fule demand is higher!
Need some help as we are in the last few days of our holiday in Scotland and need to get it sorted to get me and my family back to the Midlands
Any help would be much appreciated

Phil

Where did you get the contaminated fuel if it came from a service station it's the garage who should sort the problem

bit of info would help ie petrol deisel ?????????? year and modeland so on. cheers jt

As above was it water / petrol / algae ? Did they remove the fuel pump and mop out the tank or just siphon/ suck it out? You really need to remove the lift pump clean the strainer and swirl pot and mop out the tank entirely.

Hi It's a 2.8 I.D.TD diesel, year of registration is 2000
Is there a pump between the tank and the filter?

I wish it were that easy, the last time we put fuel it we were in Tongue, it's right on the north coast, we had half a tank and topped it up the approx 100 miles later started having issues

If you are still in Inverness or nearby try Donald MacKenzie its a Fiat garage and they helped me when I had problems touring they will even let you stay at the rear of the garage will electric hook up while they work on your ducato

Edit - read twice, post once. My BAD, sorry.
