No.
Remove rear seats to remove the rear side trim.
Our 500 also has a buzz/distortion in the right-rear speaker and I'm considering whether to 'upgrade' the speaker (generally a waste of time - original speakers made of crap materials give the most (loudest) sound in the midrange frequencies that you need in a noisy car like the 500). I think you'll find a genuine speaker from the dealer will be really cheap anyway and then you won't have to do the other side.

yeah exactly. I got the interscope upgrade when I ordered the car and so far after 5 years the sound system is just fine. Generally when you have weaker speakers they tend to collapse quicker as you are using a higher portion of its output.I have the same thing! the rear right speaker makes the whole area very buzzy, so i replaced the front component speakers and disconnected the rear ones. The sound is way better, because the original sound system that comes with the 500's is pretty poor and weak.
Don't suppose anyone knows the sizes for the front and rear speakers do they?
Thanks
