Hi everyone and Happy New Year.
First time to post a message...novice.
I have a fiat panda 2007 1.2 petrol 4x4 that out of the blue fails to start and the yellow light with a padlock lights up and stays when the key is turned on. I found out that Fiat has an emergency starting procedure so I been doing it every day to go to work and back (a bit of a pain). I have plugged the diagnostic equipment and it comes up with fault-u1600 no key communication.
This happened about a month ago and after a week or so the car started to start quite some times with the key, it seemed it was learning the transponder code again but to my annoyance for the past week I can not get it started again without the emergency procedure.
I have only one key, blue with remote control.
I have replaced the transponder areal on the key barrel to no avail.
the battery is fine.?
will a second hand bsi and key work with the original ecu?
Any advise appreciated.
any other suggestion?
